Changchai Co.Ltd is the first listed company in the national agricultural machinery industry and Changzhou city. The company’s total capital stock amounts to 374,000,000,00shares, of which 31.43% is state-owned, 2.69%is held by juridical persons, 39.16% is traded A shares and 26.72% is traded B shares. It is a large-scale enterprise and it is aone of 520 main corporations which strongly supported by the state government. Now, the company consists of two majority-owned subsidiaries and ten share subsidiaries. so far, the total property is nearly 1.830 billion yuan, the net asset is 902 million yuan, and it is staffed by 3,845 registered employees. The company is provided with an annual output capacity for 1,500,000 sets of fuel engines, 400,000 tons of castings, 100,000 sets of multi-cylinded diesel engines and 1,200,000 sets of single-cylinder diesel engines. In 2005, the company has saled a total number of 107 million sets of diesel engines, it witnessed an operating revenue of 1,855 billon yuan and a profit of 4,92million yuan. So far, the company has produced a total number of 18million sets of diesel engines and it exported to 78 countries and areas, the market proportion was the first in the domestic.

As one of the most representative enterprises of the machinery industry, Changchai Group has ranked in the Top 500 of industrial companies in China. The party and state leaders Jiang zheming, Wu bangguo , Lipeng, Zhu rongji has successively made inspections of Changchai and bestowed high appraisement. With the power output ranging from 1.7 to 72 KW, the product of the company can be used as power unit for light-duty truck, low-speed coaches, tractor, combine, power generators, engineering, ship and boat.
The registered trademark of “Changchai” was the first accredited as a well-known trademark by the state. The company continuously strengths the quality management, and it firstly passed the ISO9000 in the same enterprise, so the corporation has a perfect quality insurance system. In 2005, Changchai single-cylinder diesel engine won the title of China Famous Brand Product. In the same year, Changchai brand was listed as one of the top 10 “ most influential brand in China”. In 2006, Changchai was ranked in the brand value “500 most valuable brands in China”, and was listed as 319th.

Changchai has advanced internal combustion engine manufacture equipment and technology, which were introduced from the USA, Germany, Switzerland and Austria since last 1980s. The company has introduced advanced casting, processing and the internal combustion engine testing equipment, has the state-level enterprise technical center and the post-doctoral scientific research station. At present, the technical center owned by the various technical staff and professionals, including doctors more than 500, strong technical force, and laid a good software and hardware foundation for thr business design and manufacture of high quality products with their own intellectual property rights. To the end of 2005, the company altogether obtains national patents 42 items, obtain science technology and four new project about 500 items.
